I joined IHCC at a pivotal moment of rapid growth in May of 2024.

From day one, I focused on improving how we service small businesses, event attendees, members, partners, and sponsors—driving efficiency and expanding our impact.

SYSTEMS IMPLEMENTATION

During my first few months, I implemented systems to streamline the following processes:

    • Opportunity: An opportunity to centralize campaign tracking was observed to enhance efficiency, meet deadlines, and improve communication.

    • System Implemented: Built a project management database and content calendar to manage projects and marketing campaigns, keeping initiatives on schedule, increasing team visibility, and providing consistent updates for leads.

    • Impact:

      -Saved the team 5 hours per week on project tracking and coordination

      -Reduced same-day posting by close to 30%

    • Opportunity: Identified a need to enhance the use of analytics for developing data-driven social media strategies.

    • System Implemented: Established Metricool to track insights for Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram, enabling informed decision-making and content refinement.

    • Impact:

      Compared to 2023, this system brought the following growth in under 8 months:

      -117% increase in average views per reel

      -265% growth in total views

      -447% increase in monthly average views

      -47% increase in median views per reel

    • Opportunity: To streamline the process for submitting marketing requests, aiming to improve coordination for events, workshops, and collaborations.

    • System Implemented: Designed and implemented a marketing request system for IHCC staff, clarifying submission processes, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining brand consistency.

    • Impact:

      Reduced back-and-forth communication by approximately 60%, leading to faster turnaround on deliverables and a more cohesive brand image for each program.

    • Opportunity: A more structured approach to onboarding and engaging members was required to consistently deliver value and track membership benefits effectively.

    • System Implemented: Partnered with the Membership Director to create an onboarding process and Membership Benefits Submission Forms, streamlining operations, enhancing member satisfaction, and improving benefit tracking.

    • Impact:

      -Increased new member engagement rates by close to 50%.

    • Opportunity: Growing content demands presented an opportunity to adopt tools for faster and more efficient workflows.

    • System Implemented: Integrated AI-driven tools such as ChatGPT, ManyChat, Napkin, and Otter.ai, leveraging prompt engineering to expedite content creation processes.

    • Impact:

      -Accelerated content turnaround times by approximately 60%.

      -Allowed the team to produce 3x more deliverables within the same timeframe.

IHCC ANNUAL BUSINESS CONFERENCE & EXPO

Main Goal: Surpass last year’s Expo attendance.

Held at Navy Pier, it is one of the Midwest's largest professional gatherings, offering a platform for entrepreneurs and professionals to connect, learn, and explore new opportunities.

By bringing together a vast network of exhibitors, workshops, and networking opportunities, the IHCC Expo fosters collaboration, innovation, and economic advancement within the Hispanic business community and beyond.

Working alongside the Events Team, our marketing campaign was able to bring in 3,450 participants this year, making it the most successful IHCC expo in its history.

HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH CAMPAIGN

Main Goal: Increase local brand visibility of small-businesses featured.

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Marketing Committee visited Latinx-owned businesses across different Chicago neighborhoods and featured them in both short-form and long-form videos.

The goal was to highlight the journeys of various Hispanic business owners and their connections to their communities.

Despite exceeding the 90-second Instagram Reels limit and collaborating with five different accounts for each post, every video garnered exceptional organic reach and engagement.

That is the power of storytelling.
